Earth Day Tree Giveaway
The Long Branch Environmental Commission held a tree giveaway in honor of both Earth Day and Arbor Day. Residents received free seedlings from the NJ Forest Service to plant in their yards. Thanks to everyone who turned out to help us make Long Branch really Green!

Country Picnic
The City of Long Branch hosted this BBQ and Community Gathering that offered live country music, free food and games for the kids like sack races, tug of war and corn hole. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with the mayor celebrated the new and improved Jackson Woods. Guided tours of the Woods were available and many people wandered through the park on their own to explore and enjoy all that Jackson Woods has to offer.

Family Fun Night
A family event sponsored by Long Branch Recreation. Kids made bird feeders, ladybug rocks and participated in a park scavenger hunt. An Audubon guide educated families on the birds of the Woods. And of course there was time to climb the rock pyramid! Family fun for everyone.

Rain Barrel Workshop
A collaboration with the NJ Watershed Ambassadors and the Long Branch Recreation Department, the workshop taught participants how to create and use a rain barrel to conserve water. Participants received a rain barrel to decorate and keep in their yard.
